31st Street Water Project

Department of Water Management crews will begin the work to install 1,265 feet of new 8-inch water main in W. 31stStreet (Stewart-Wentworth).

 

Reason: The old water main dates back to 1900, and needs to be replaced.

Timing: The installation of the new water main will begin shortly, and is expected to be completed in early April 2017. This includes restoration. Dates may change depending on weather and other factors. If there is any appreciable change, the public will be notified..

Traffic: Traffic will be permitted to flow on West 31st street outside of working hours. However, when working in the street, it will be closed to traffic for safety reasons. You will always be able to reach your home or business, even if it means putting a metal plate in place. Outside of working hours, a lane will be left open for local traffic only.

 

Parking: Parking will be limited. “No Parking” will be posted as needed, during working hours (7am-4pm). After 4pm, parking is permitted as long as cars are moved by the start of the next workday.
