Thank you to the residents who have been working with our office, and others who had concerns regarding the liquid draining out of McKeon Playground. The Chicago Park District took a sample and results show that the liquid is NOT oil-based or hazardous. The Chicago Park District’s results confirm that the discolored liquid was most likely created from rainwater that has been sitting and pooling with the decaying and decomposing wood chips at the base of the playground. The liquid was also tested for pesticides, herbicides, and PCBs and none of these contaminants were detected either. If you have any further issues please feel free to reach out to the office via email at email@example.com, or call us at 773-254-6677.
